Interview: Frederik Vandeputte
Redmojo: people-centered & data-driven
Tell us, who are you?
I am Frederik Vandeputte, founder of Redmojo. Ever since I was a teenager I have had a passion for databases and IT. So, naturally, I started studying IT in my fourth year of secondary school and I have loved data ever since. As a recent graduate, I started working at a bank, where wearing a tie was the way to go. That’s where I found out that this “tie culture” was not for me. So I quickly put those ties back in the closet. (laughs)
After years of experience in the Microsoft environment and having founded the company Kohera, I reconsidered what I wanted to do. I wanted to work with people and make them grow. This in combination with the countless possibilities of data. This led me to the people analytics story and where I presented the idea to De Cronos Groep.
So how exactly does this process work?
We start by collecting data from the employees. Through various Microsoft tools like Viva Insights and Power BI, we gain insight on how they function during their workday. Apart from productivity measurements, we also look at the mental health and desires of the employees.
Once all the data is collected on a regular basis, we analyze it. This allows the employer to focus on the well-being and engagement of the company. Together, we seek answers to questions such as: what do employees need? What is still lacking within the day-to-day operation? How can you increase employees’ productivity, happiness and motivation?
In order to understand and apply these analyses and answers, we advise the client in a final stage. By working together in a structural way, the client has new opportunities for growth.
What makes People Analytics and People Insights in 2023 just as important?
We cannot deny it, within the HR world there have been more and more challenges in recent years. The rise of hybrid working and the increase in burnouts demonstrate the importance of engagement and well-being within an organization. We at RedMojo believe that the ideal combination to avoid, for example, a burnout, is the combination of psychological expertise and data. In a structural way, getting insights of your employees and being able to respond to them directly.

How did you guys get into Bluu’s ecosystem?
I always had faith in the ecosystem of Bluu and De Cronos Groep and obviously wanted to become part of it. For example, I have known Luk De Nayer, founder of Bluu, for a few years now. We also work together with CrossPoint Solutions and The Flow Consulting. For the both of us, this collaboration immediately felt right.
Fastforward: Redmojo in 3 years. What’s next?
I hope that we can expand our team of currently four experts to 20 additional employees. And of course we hope that Redmojo will be top of mind with customers when it comes to people analytics in the Microsoft environment.
